Causes

[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]An accident or trauma that leads to pain is considered an acute injury. By contrast a chronic injury develops over time, generally from overuse. For example, typing or playing tennis can place stress on the hand and wrist, leading to a chronic injury. The most common acute injury is a sprain of the wrist, ankles, knees and feet. Sprains are often caused by strain, such as lifting heavy items, inadequate stretching or warm up before physical activity.[/ezcol_1half_end]
