Lower Back Pain
What is Low Back Pain?
Lower back pain is one of the most common health problems in the United States and is the leading cause of disability for persons younger than age 45. Your low back is an intricate structure of interconnected and overlapping elements that help you stay erect and allow you to move. Your tendons and muscles help provide stability and movement, while highly sensitive nerves and nerve roots that travel from the lower back down into the legs and feet provide the signals needed for this movement and pain sensation. Spinal discs with their gelatinous inner cores provide support and flexibility along with the many small and complex joints.

An irritation or problem with any of these structures can cause low back pain and/or pain that radiates or is referred to other parts of the body. Pain from resultant low back muscle spasms can also be severe.
While low back pain is extremely common, the symptoms and severity of lower back pain vary greatly. This is why at Strelcheck chiropractic we begin by performing a comprehensive physical and orthopedic exam to pinpoint the sources of your low back pain. Treatment may include a number of different therapeutic modalities that will be tailored to you depending on you diagnosis. Some of these modalities include chiropractic adjustments, exercise, physical therapy, massage therapy, manual traction and ultra sound.
